i seem to abandon this place much during the semester only to clear backdated issues when the vacation starts. freedom of the mind gives me reason to pursue my lingering thoughts apparently.
so an email back in end june triggered my involvement in an IDA initiative they call the enhanced learning in infocomm technology programme, or ELITe in short. (our bureaucracies seem to favour coining acronyms that invite controversy). the gist of it is a one-year mentorship programme leading to an internship with a partner organisation. i thought this would be a great opportunity to bypass the highly competitve space of internship applications so i signed up readily. when i didn’t get my organisation of choice, i was hesitant on continuing into the programme as it would be politically incorrect to lead a firm on and reject their internship eventually. thankfully, things turned out for the better when i got in touch with microsoft (and their brilliant new academic program manager), and i find myself back (after a 4 year hiatus) in their student partner program. looks like it’s going to be an exciting year ahead!
on another note, i indirectly rejected salesforce since i had accepted microsoft’s offer, but it was nice to note that they still harboured a positive image of me.
