today’s technically my last day of summer, so i ought to wrap things up. during the previous term, lots of abstract ideas were floating around for summer plans, and most of them remained ideas. some were tragically killed, like the ambitious ocip project, and others just.. well.. never materialised. at the end of the day, at least i managed to strike some items off that list.
my gaffe at starringSMU’s initial interview denied me a position on the orgcomm, and the next immediate item was to get my nsf liability off my shoulders; ord in peace.

spending the last term watching how i met your mother had made “Suit Up!” a phrase that was legen… dary! so that had to be done, well besides it being preparation for FT and the corporate world beyond.

then came the choice between working and uh.. not working. the choice was clear. (hey, working wasn’t feasible either due to the intermittent disruptions in my availability). so learning to trade stocks occupied a couple of weeks, and that’s my stack of experience, although it hasn’t made me very much richer.

when starringSMU kicked off, the first thought was there goes summer. but it was a fun experience (it had to be, since i wasn’t there for the csp hours) and kinda nostalgic since it was my very first smu event last year. it has become rather cliché to say i have an awesome group, but we had a great time nonetheless.

and today, my last day of summer (day two of school for many others), i checked the last do-able item off the list: get scjp certifed. been trying to revise on and off, but distractions are aplenty, and i’m glad it’s done and over with. another line on my résumé. someone commented it was sad to take an exam on my last holiday, but well, it would have been even sadder if i had failed. so yeah. cheers!
